Professional practice of students

Objective of practice

The Polytechnic College Jihlava as a professionally oriented college requires its students to complete an internship.

Scope of internship

In the presidential form of the Applied Informatics from the academic year 2019/2020 there is an internship in the total length of 3+14 weeks in the 5th semester of study.

In thepresidential form of the programmesApplied Technology for Industrial PracticeandApplied Engineering there is an internship of a total duration of 14 weeks in the 6th semester of study.

In the follow-up Master's degree programme Applied Engineering for Industrial Practice there is an internship of 12 weeks in the 4th semester of study.

In the combined form, the same scope of the required practice applies as in the full-time form. However, work experience is usually counted on the basis of the students' work experience - see below. Professional practice is one of the compulsory subjects and must therefore be completed no later than during the course of study. However, for the same reason, compared to previous years, confirmation of work experience is not required as a condition for admission to study.

Guarantee of work experience

The subject of the internship is the responsibility of the internship guarantor Ing. Jan Jirsa. The practice guarantor mainly decides whether the practice proposed by the student is acceptable, disputable or unclear cases are decided by the head of the department.

Administratively, the practice is provided by the practice officer, the secretary of the department, Ms. Michaela Machovcová.

Directives and internal guidelines of the Department

The internship within the study programmes provided by the Department of Technical Studies of the VŠPJ is governed by the Internal Guidelines for Professional Practice for Students of the VŠPJ, which can be downloaded in the information system and the Internal Guidelines for Professional Practice for Students of the Department of Technical Studies. Information for full-time students

To successfully complete the internship, the student must meet the following requirements and deliver the following outcomes:

• registers the internship in the web-based Internship Portal of the VŠPJ
.
• complete a practice log on an ongoing basis and submit the completed log for review
• submit a final report on the course and outcomes of the internship
• submit an electronic presentation of the practice for its defence
• submit the student evaluation of the internship
• submit the certificate of completion of the internship and the student's evaluation by the organisation
• defence of the internship in the winter semester 23/24 will take place in the auditorium on 18/12/2023, 4/1/2024 and 31/1/2024 at 10:00 am
  

Confirmation of practice of students in combined form

• students download the appropriate certificate according to their field of study/programme and length of experience:
• Applied Computer Science B.Sc. - internship 12 weeks
• Applied Informatics B.Sc. - 2.5 weeks' work placement preparation + work placement 14 weeks (curriculum from 2019/2020)
• Applied Technology for Industrial Practice BSc - internship 14 weeks
• Applied Engineering B.Sc. - internship 14 weeks
• Applied Engineering for Industrial Practice NMgr. - internship 12 weeks
• have the document confirmed by the organisation and forward to the study department of the VŠPJ
• the person responsible for the student in the organisation must have a university degree
