Department characteristics

Department of Technical Studies provides teaching of subjects from the fields of informatics, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering as well as studies in the field of Industry 4.0, automation and robotization in the degree programmes Applied Informatics, Applied Engineering and Applied Mechanical Engineering.

We also offer a number of computer science and engineering courses for students of other degree programmes at the College of Polytechnics Jihlava.

We have specialized laboratories, which, in addition to direct teaching, are used for student projects, bachelor and master theses, basic scientific and application projects and contract research.

We organize professionally focused Summer Schools for interested members of the general public. We organize Trends and Technologies and Informatics conferences. Our staff is involved in delivering University of the Third Age courses, and we offer computer literacy courses. We publish the latest information about the department's events in Other department services.

Where can you find us?

Department staff offices can be found at several locations on campus. Most of the department members, the office of the Head of the Department and the department secretariat can be found on the second floor of the main (blue) wing of the building, along with the department's five laboratories for teaching primarily electrical engineering courses.

Some staff are housed in the Signal Processing and Multimedia Laboratory, located in the basement below the library (facing Tyršova Street).

Other staff are based in the Experimental Measurement Laboratory, located on the ground floor, the wing facing Tyršova Street.
